AP: YSR Congress party leader Vijayamma on indefinte hunger strike
Bangalore, Aug 20: YSR Congress Party (YSRC) honorary president Y S Vijayamma started her indefinite huger strike in Guntur protesting the Congress decision over the bifurcation of the state into Telangana and Seemandhara.
Earlier the party had decided to launch the agitation in Vijayawada but the police denied the permission due to the Avanigadda Assembly bypolls which is due on August 21.

According to the party source nearly 25,000 people will support the huger strike and express their solidarity with Vijayamma, wife of late former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Rajashekar Reddy.
YSR Congress leaders said that Vijayamma decided to go on a hunger strike only to protect the interests of the people of Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and non-Telangana regions) by not allowing the Congress to bifurcate the state.
Meanwhile TDP (Telugu Desam Party) MLA's Yarapatineni Srinivasa Rao, GV Anjaneyulu and MLC Nannapaneni Rajakumar are also planning to launch fast in the city Monday.
