Durga speaks, says followed SC order

Lucknow, Aug 17: Durga finally submitted her response to the

filed by the UP Government, alleging her of invoking communal violence in the Kadalpur village by illegally demolishing an under-construction mosque.

Replying to the chargesheet, she clarified that she was following the Supreme Court's orders and strongly refuted allegations against her. She also said that she had informed the villagers earlier about the illegality of the structure and that they understood her point immideately.

In fact, the mosque wall was demolished after consulting all religious and community leaders, she said.

Despite pressure for revoking her suspension from all quarters, The Akhilesh Yadav Government stood by its decision. It further filed a 10-pager chargesheet against her on August 4, based on a report of Meerut Division Commissioner.

However, supporters suspect foul play as the SP government allegedly has close links with the sand mafia, who bear a grudge against Durga (following her crack down upon them).
