"Slow pace" work in Assam: CM Tarun Gogoi

"Work in each department is lehemia (slow). In which department is work going on well"? Gogoi posed this question to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting here responding to queries on the functioning of the power department.
"If we don't work properly then how will the departments function and carry out their work. We have to be honest that the people of the state work in a lehemia way", Gogoi claimed.
"No body can do anything to government employees till they are 60 years when they retire from service. Until people work with sincerity how will work be done", the Chief Minister asked.
"But despite this, insurgency and other problems, development is taking place in the state in the agriculture, veterinary, transport, road construction, rural and other sectors", he said.
"We are also insisting on security and development as they are interlinked for economic development of the state", Gogoi added.
