Indore's shame and pride: Rape case and verdict in one year
Sessions Judge Indra Singh convicted Rajesh Sahu (35) and his wife Tanu alias Aruna (28) and awarded them seven-year imprisonment in a case related to rape of a 25-year-old woman and preparing a video clip of the incident.
The person who helped in committing the crime is a woman. Tanu and her Rajesh are residents of Indore's Aerodram area.
The rape was committed on the Republic Day holiday last year. On January 26, 2012, Tanu called the victim, an old acquaintance, to her residence. When the rape victim came home, Tanu locked the woman in a room.
Then Tanu's husband Rajesh sexually assaulted the woman. The judge was harsh with the punishment because the perverted Tanu filmed the act of sexual assault on her mobile camera phone.
After the heinous act, the couple warned the victim and threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to others. They also threatened to make the video clip public.
However, after few days, the woman mustered courage and told her family members about the incident, and also lodged a police complaint.
