Bangalore, July 11: Southwest monsoon are active over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. East Rajasthan, Marathawada, Telangana and Kerala are some of the other regions that witness active southwest monsoon.
Rain and thundershowers have occurred in most of the places along the west coast; at many places over Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya and the coastal Andhra Pradesh. A few places in Himachal Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Lakshadweep are some of the other places that witnessed rains and thundershowers. However, it was dry in Punjab, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the next 72 hours.
Heavy rainfall might also occur in one or two places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, odisha, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Heavy to very heavy rain would occur at isolated places over coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka in the next 48 hours.
