Torrential rain lashes districts of Karnataka

was reported from Karwar on Wednesday. Torrential rain was also reported from Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Shimoga districts. Many streets were waterlogged, forcing people to ferry in boats.

Southwest monsoon was reported to be vigorous over Marathawada, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Rain been predicted in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Telangana, Konkan and Goa and Kerala.

Next 3-day forecast

Heavy rainfall and thundershowers are likely to take place in most places along the west coast and Sub­-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, northeastern states, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Madhya Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan are also likely to get heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours. But, it would decrease thereafter.Some of the other places that may witness the same include Chattisgarh, Odisha, and the interiors of Karnataka.
