Haryana negotiating with Argentina, Brazil to set up godowns
"An agreement in this regard is likely to be signed soon," said minister of state for agriculture Sukhbir Kataria in Sirsa, according to an official release.
The godowns will be constructed for safe storage of food grains without any impact of adverse climatic conditions like very low or very high temperatures and humidity, he said.
Following signing of the agreement with Argentina and Brazil, special concessions would be given to farmers for setting up the godowns, which would also provide employment to the youth, the minister said.
During the current season, about 60 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has reached the state's grain markets and adequate arrangements have been made for its storage, he added.
