Ahmedabad, April 15: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday will inaugurate the newly set up ministerial enclave in Sachivalaya complex here. According to state government sources, a senior class VI employee in the Sachivalaya will light the ceremonial lamp at the inauguration at 3.30 pm.

Monday is the fifth day of Chaitra Navratri, which is considered to be an auspicious occasion.

The twin blocks of the enclave have been christened Swarnim Sankul and they are spread over an area of 10,700 square metres. It is learnt that approximately Rs 110 crore have been spent in setting up the complex.

While Swarnim Sankul-I will houses offices of the chief minister and cabinet ministers, Swarnim Sankul-II, which is still under construction, will house offices of the ministers of state.

The first block will also have conference rooms for secretaries, administrative offices and data centre. The CMO will occupy the third and fourth floors while the first and the second floors have the ministers' offices.

The construction of the enclave had started in December 2011 and although it was expected to be completed in a year, it was eventually delayed.

Concerns over Modi's security were one of the main reasons for establishing a separate ministerial enclave, sources said.
