Twitter goes abuzz with Bollywood actor Pran & Phalke Award

on Friday, April 12 went abuzz with the news of Pran and how the veteran

actor will be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award in the field of Indian cinema given annually by the Government of India, is given to prominent personality from the film industry.

Such noted personalities are respected for their significant contributions to Indian cinema. A committee consisting eminent personalities from the Indian film industry is appointed to evaluate the award. Dadasaheb Phalke is considered as the father of Indian cinema.

The 93-year-old actor Pran, who played the role of villain in several Hindi movies in the era of 50s and 60s, won hearts of many with his acting skill. The actor also was honoured with the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Indian cinema.
