Delhi: 5 injured as massive fire breaks out in Bawana slum

Officials said that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined. A loud sound was heard just moments before several huts caught fire, indicating that a LPG cylinder probably kept in one of them had exploded due to some reason.
News channels quoted police officers as saying that five persons have been critically injured in the incident and property worth lakhs of rupees has been destroyed.
Residents of the area staged a protest in the afternoon, claiming that the Fire and Rescue Services personnel arrived late even though the department was informed as soon as the blaze spread through the cluster of huts around 2.15 p.m.
The slum is located close to the Delhi-Haryana border.
