Know:Who helped Bitti Mohanty to impersonate as Raghav Rajan

Thiruvananthapuram, March 13: With the passage of each day, probe team investigating the case of rape convict Bitti Mohanty, who duped law enforcing bodies by posing as Raghav Rajan is stumbling upon interesting facts as how easy it is to impersonate as someone else in India.

Bitti Mohanty turned Raghav Rajan, a bank official with the help of fake passport and voter ID card. Moreover, Bitti produced fake school leaving and degree certificates to get an MBA degree. In fact, Bitti voted during 2009 general elections in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh through a voter ID card that he had obtained from the local taluk office.

A team of Kerala police has arrived in Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh to find the details of the case. The police team is saying that Bitti stayed in Puttaparthi from 2007-2009.

Police sources say Bitti worked as computer operator in Sri Vidya College, 15 km away Puttaparthi in Kothacheruvu mandal headquarters. Later, he joined as a teacher at Deena Janodharan organsiation as a computer teacher.

In 2009, Bitti left Puttaparthi and did not return.

Police interaction with one Rama Rao, the headmaster of Deena Janoddharana Residential Hostel, a home for orphan children revealed chilling details about the case.

The hostel is supported by the Sai Baba Trust.

Rama Rao told the police, "A high profile devotee who used to visit Puttaparthi quite often, introduced Bitti Mohanty as Raghav Rajan to him in 2007. The so-called ‘high-profile devotee' also introduced two others as Rajiv Ranjan and Saraswathi, uncle and aunty of Bitti."

Police feels Rajiv and Saraswathi are the parents of Bitti.

Moreoevr, Bitti stayed in a house belonging to local RMP Krishnaiah located on river Chitravathi road between 2007-2009 on rent.

Kerala police on Saturday arrested one man called Rajiv Ranjan for alleged impersonation and forgery.

Now, it has been revealed the arrested person is none other than Bitti Mohanty, who was convicted for raping a German woman. Bitti has been absconding for more than six years now.

The case is high profile as Bitti is the son of former Odisha DGP BB Mohanty, who helped him to jump parole. Earlier, Bitti was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment for raping a 26-year-old German tourist in Alwar, Rajasthan.

But, he took advantage of his father's position when he was allowed a 15-day parole to meet his ailing mother in 2006. Bitti jumped parole and was absconding since then. Bitti's father was accused of helping his son jump parole.
