Talk to plan panel at Google Hangout on March 15

New Delhi, March 13: After Finance Minister

's hangout engagement, the

, along with the National Innovation Council, is hosting its first

Hangout on the 12th Five Year Plan on Friday, March 15 at 5 PM.

The commission aims to communicate the 12th Five Year Plan through social media platforms to encourage and enhance public participation in the planning process.

The hour-long citizen engagement session on Google Hangout will be attended by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, National Innovation Council Chairman Sam Pitroda, Members and the Secretary of the Planning Commission. They will answer questions from the public and from a panel invited to attend the Hangout.

In formulating the 12th Five Year Plan, the Planning Commission consulted over 950 civil society organisations, multiple business associations, all State Governments, as well as local representative institutions and unions. This was bring in more inclusive and interactive approach to the planning.

The Google Hangout takes forward the inclusive process followed by the Commission in formulating the Plan.
The Plan has been approved by the National Development Council and the aim now is to share its vision with the citizens.

The commission will publicise the contents of the Plan on several other social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube.
