Bharat Bandh: Mamata's men punish worker, ear chopped off

Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress members on Thursday chopped off the worker's left ear. The victim was rushed to a near by hospital.
The incident shocked all inviting ire and criticism from opposition parties of the state. Mamata Banerjee earlier had appealed people not to join the 48-hour Bharat Bandh.
The Chief Minister also had threatened to take actions those who would miss their works observing the bandh. The CM earlier had appealed to people to attend work like in a normal day and that she will guard against the strike. Government employees were informed that no leave would be sanctioned for the strike. The CM also had said that the government would compensate for the damage caused and would take actions against those who would miss the duty hours or fail to show a valid reason for the absence.
