'Celebrating Valentine's Day results in rape, assault'
Speaking about rape and sexual assault cases in the country, Mr Solanki in Panaji on Monday, Feb 11 asserted that Western traditions have a negative impact on the youth of this country.
Mr Solanki was quoted as saying, "Since the Bharatiya youth is turning towards indulgence by blindly following westerners, it has been noticed that the sale of contraceptives peaks on this day in cities such as Mumbai and Pune."
"This leads to a rise in incidents of rapes and other atrocities," added Mr Solanki.
The cadre of the organisation are planning to give distribute pamphlets in different colleges, private tuition classes, railway stations, bus-stations and at crowded places to make people realise the bad aspects associated with Valentine's Day.
The Valentine week of 2013 began with Rose Day on Thursday, Feb 7. Every year, Rose Day marks the start of Valentine's Day (Feb 14) celebrations.
Valentine's Day has become an important festival in this country. However, right wings such as Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal always create ruckus on this day, protesting against the bad influence of Western culture.
