Revealed: Connection b/w Yeddyurappa's new party & Sonia

leader BS Yeddyurappa will resign from the party on Friday, Nov 30.

His new party, Karnataka Janata Party (KJP), is scheduled to be launched on Dec 9. Coincidentally, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will celebrate her birthday on that date.

Citing his plan to launch his party on Dec 9, many have raised question - Is Yeddyurappa trying to woo the Congress President with his special "birthday gift"?

Overruled all such speculations, the former CM said, "I didn't know it was Sonia's birthday. It's a coincidence that my party is being launched on her birthday."

Despite Yeddyurappa's statement over his unawareness about Sonia's birthday, critics reminded that the former had praised the latter.

Condemning central BJP leaders for dumping him, Yeddyurappa had asserted that Sonia does not desert her party leaders during their hard times.

Yeddyurappa had also put up Sonia Gandhi's picture at his Malleshwaram office in Bangalore. However, later he removed it to avoid controversies.

Yeddyurappa earlier had planned to launch his party on Dec 25 as a tribute to his mentor former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who will celebrate his 88th birthday on that date.

However, Yeddyurappa, a highly superstitious leader, had retracted from the launch on Dec 25 citing 'shoonya maasa' (inauspicious month) which will begin from Dec 15.

The rebel BJP leader had also dropped his plan to avoid any clash with Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly election results to be announced on Dec 20.

Yeddyurappa decided to break his ties with BJP as he was disappointed with the BJP leadership and believes that the party high command has ditched him by not giving him back the chief minister's post.

He was forced to step down following his alleged involvement in several corruption cases.
