Oneindia users vote for Narendra Modi as NDA's PM candidate

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, veteran BJP leader LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Bihar CM and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar are some of them whose names have been suggested for PM's post.
While political leaders, especially NDA allies look confused, Oneindia users show their full confidence on Modi. Our readers voted for Gujarat CM as they believe that Modi is the best choice among all.
Our Tamil channel - Oneindia Tamil conducted a survey asking its users - Based on political and administrative acumen, who in NDA is the best to become PM - Modi, Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Nitish Kumar or Arun Jaitley?
A total of 12,647 people participated in the survey till Tuesday, Sept 11. The survey results show that Modi left Advani, Sushma and other leaders far behind when it comes to popularity. Despite all controversies and allegations against Modi, it seems that Gujarat CM has gained faith of the aam-aadmi (common man) of this country.
Modi, Advani, Nitish, Sushma and Arun got 9,030 (72%), 1,300 (10.58%), 1,244 (9%), 592 (4.5%) and 481 (3.8%) votes, respectively.
However, it will not be easy for Modi to become the PM candidate as many political leaders, especially Nitish Kumar, are against him. The Bihar CM earlier had threatened to withdraw support and quit the alliance if BJP announces Modi's name for the post.
Meanwhile, another survey conducted by an English daily claims that 64% people want Nitish Kumar as the prime minister of India. In an another instance, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray extended his support to Sushma Swaraj.
Thackeray recently has stated, "At present, there is only one person who is intelligent, brilliant - Sushma Swaraj. She would be a great choice for PM's post. She is a deserving, intelligent woman. She would deliver a great performance."
Thackeray ignited the debate followed by Arun Jaitley's statement, "I think the allies express their opinion and they have a right to express their opinion. Frankly when we decide along with our allies at the time of the next election, we factor in every factor therein."
"The smaller and friendly parties can always make suggestions. They have right to make suggestions. I don't take it as an idea of a challenge," added Jaitley.
Citing such statements, its seems that the debate would continue at least for next two years till the time NDA announces its decision. But Oneindia's survey results may help them to finalise the name of PM candidate.
