After WB, boy forced to drink urine in Tamil Nadu

Reports said the boy, a student of Class IX, repeatedly requested the teachers to allow him to go to the washroom but was initially denied. When he continued to ask for permission, the irked teachers allegedly beat him and forced him to drink his own urine.
The victim, who is a resident of Kumbhakonam district in Tamil Nadu, used to stay in the school hostel. He managed to flee from his school after the incident and told his parents about it. Injury marks and swellings were reportedly found on the boy's body and he was admitted to a government hospital in his hometown. Police went to Kumbhakonam and took a statement from the boy and his family.
Meanwhile, it was learned that the teachers who had allegedly maltreated the boy was suspended by the school authorities.
Earlier, a girl of Standard V at a Visva-Bharati hostel in Santiniketan was made to lick her own urine by the warden as a punishment for bedwetting. The warden was arrested and granted bail later by the ACJM court, Bolpur.
