Actor Sohail Khan's car mows 70-yr-old woman to death

Mumbai, Jul 2: In yet another case of negligent driving, a hapless 70-year-old woman was mowed down by Bollywood actor and producer Sohail Khan's car. The incident happened late Sunday around 11 pm. The woman, Chandan Bala, was crushed to death due to the impact of the crash that occurred near the St Andrews church in Bandra.

There are conflicting reports on whether the actor was present in the car at the time of the incident. The Land Cruiser belonging to the actor was driven by his driver, Dhananjay Pimpale.

Eye witness accounts suggest that the driver mowed down the woman and sped away while other reports suggest that the driver and the constable rushed the woman to the nearby Bhabha hospital. The eyewitness has been quoted as saying, "But no doctor was attending her; half an hour was wasted there. They told us to take the woman out of the hospital."

A case has been booked against the driver for rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Initial reports reveal that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or other substances. The driver was driving the car towards Sohail's house when the mishap occurred.
