Tejinder Singh withdraws plea against Army Chief

Tejinder Singh
New Delhi, May 10: Lt Gen (retd) Tejinder Singh has withdrawn his plea against Army Chief General VK Singh filed in the Supreme Court for his claim that the former tried to bribe him.

He had earlier sought a CBI probe against the Army Chief for levelling charges against him.

Reports reveal that the reason as to why Tejinder Singh withdrew his case was because he procured some confidential details in the case, which he did not want to bring out in the public.

"Your lordships please don't open the file at all. Kindly grant me permission to withdraw the petition and move the appropriate forum," said Senior Counsel Rajiv Dhawan to justices P Sathasivam and J Chelameswar.

The bench later granted permission to withdraw the petition.

According to reports, Tejinder Singh will now approach appropriate forum in this regard.

The news comes after Delhi High Court asked Tejinder Singh to either withdraw his case against the Army Chief or prove that right to reputation was his fundamental right.
