Haryana says no to jeans, t-shirts for women

Chandigarh, May 9: The Haryana Women and Child Department has issued a new dress code for

employees, which does not advocate wearing of jeans and t-shirts to work but only salwar kameez or saree.

According to the Haryana Women and Child Department, the western wear is 'indecent clothing' and wearing 'saree or salwar kameez with dupatta' indicates decent clothing.

Men in the state have been directed to wear only trouser and shirt combination. The circular warns of dire consequences if anyone fails to abide by the new dress code.
