"Munda is in ICU. but doctors say his condition is stable," added Mr Sardesai.
Munda's helicopter crashed during the course of landing at the Ranchi airport. Preliminary reports suggested that the chopper developed a technical snag minutes before landing.
Munda's wife Meera was also on board the helicopter. The CM was on his way from Saraikela and was landing at the Birsa Munda Airport, when the chopper he was travelling crashed.
Though the CM and his wife are safe, Inspector General of Police (Ranchi Range), MS Bhatia and Jharkhand Director General of Police GS Rath have been quoted as saying, "The Chief Minister has received multiple injuries. All six travelling in the helicopter has been brought to Apollo Hospital. All of them are safe and cooperating with the doctors."
Fortunately, the helicopter did not catch fire following the crash which happened at around 12:30 pm on Wednesday. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) started investigation to find out the exact reason of the accident.
