K'taka: Woman shows black flag to Sonia, beaten brutally

Mrs Gandhi was on her two-day visit in Karnataka and reached Tumkur on Saturday, Apr 28 to attend 105th birthday celebration of Siddaganga Mutt Swami, one of the most influential gurus among the Lingayat community.
This community forms about 17 percent population in Karnata and it is believed that Sonia's sudden visit to the state has been aimed to woo the Lingayats to secure some votes during the upcoming polls in 2013.
The woman, according to sources, was present in Mrs Gandhi's rally in Tumkur on Saturday and police beat her badly and later took her into custody. However, the supporters of the protester raised anti-Sonia slogans disrupting the rally for some time.
