A total of 391 land grabbing cells had been formed in the state, she said. The Chief Minister denied that the effort was aimed against her party's arch rival, the DMK, saying non-DMK members against whom complaints have been receieved had also faced action.
Scores of DMK members including former Ministers had been arrested in connection with land-grab cases after the AIADMK came to power last year. DMK strongmen Veerapandi S Arumugam, KN Nehru and K Ponmudi are among those who were arrested.
