Ex-Scientist's daughter molested, stripped in Mamata's land

Kolkata, Apr 18: A retired scientist Aparesh Bhattacharya and his daughter Aditi were assaulted by the members of a local club at Baruipur on the behest of the landlord where the scientist's family used to stay. The accused stripped Aditi and thrashed the scientist.

The incident took place on Sunday, Apr 15 the police didn't take any immediate action against the accused, although they found scientist's family bleeding. On Wednesday, Apr 18 Police has filed a case against the accused under bailable sections.

"We've received a complaint from Aditi and started a case against the owner of the house, and others," said Arnab Biswas, sub-divisional police officer, Baruipur. While, landlord's wife is also included in the FIR filed against 32 people.

"We've gone through the complaint, but found that the allegations are bailable in nature," Biswas said.
