Mumbai local train services disrupted due to fire

Mumbai, Apr 18: Local train services came to a halt in Mumbai, Maharashtra after a fire broke out in the electronic signal panel on Wednesday.

Reports reveal that a short circuit led to the fire. Four long distance trains including Godavari Express and Pragati Express have been cancelled. Trains on the Harbour Line have been diverted to the Central line.

According to the Railway PRO, only 70% of trains will run today.

"Efforts will be made to run as many services as possible during peak hours. Signaling system at Vidya Vihar restored. Signaling system at Kurla should be restored soon. All up mail/express trains have been provided halt between Kasra and Kalyan only for the benefit of passengers. It is expected that 60 to 75 per cent of services will ply on date," said Central Railways.
