Conservative Tamil Nadu sees the most divorces in India

Registrar General of India had conducted a survey and submitted the sample Registration System 2010 data to the Union Health Ministry. According to the survey, it was found that Tamil Nadu with 14.5% was followed by Karnataka with 14.2% of WDS, Kerala with 14% and Andhra Pradesh with 13.6%.
Maharashtra recorded the fifth position in the highest percentage of widowed/divorced or separated (WDS) people. Over 7% of the population witnessed WDS of an age group of 10 and above.
Meanwhile, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat recorded the lower percentage of WDS.
