Kingfisher makes junior staff happy, pays part of salary

"Some of the junior staff have finally been paid (their dues). But they have received only one month basic salary," an airline staffer said.
The payment to the staff comes after the Kingfisher Airlines Chairman Vijay Mallya assured his employees that they would be paid their dues soon.
The Kingfisher employees had earlier threatened to go on a strike if the management failed to pay their dues by Tuesday. The plan was, however, withdrawn following the staff meeting with Vijay Mallya.
Mallya had promised to pay the junior staff their dues by Apr 4, and engineers and pilots by Apr 10.
Debt-ridden Kingfisher failed to pay its staff earlier after its bank accounts were frozen as it failed to pay Rs 70 crore debt that it owed to the I-T department.
