Government employees in soup, CVC to penalise 4,171

The Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V Narayanasamy gave a written statement in Lok Sabha, said the CVC has advised to impose the penalty in 4,171 cases in two stages-3,144 in the first stage and 1,027 in the second stage. While CVC is consulted during the inquiries and completed in two stages.
Two years back, the Commission has dealt with 4,604 corrupted cases against government employees.
"During 2010 and 2011, the Commission has tendered its first stage advice in 3,424 and 3,144 cases respectively," Narayanasamy said. The commission has offered its second stage advice in 1,180 and 1,027 cases respectively, he added.
