Mumbai, Mar 27: A Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) delegation led by its president Manikrao Thakre today urged Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan to review and withdraw the LPG tax hike announced in the budget.

Chavan gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that he will speak to all concerned before taking a view on the matter, MPCC general secretary Sanjay Dutt said in a statement.

The delegation which met Chavan here comprised MPCC office-bearers Sudhakar Gangane, Sanjay Dutt, Sharad Aher, Subash Chavan, Rajan Bhosale, Basavraj Patil among others.

Finance Minister Ajit Pawar yesterday proposed 5 per cent sales tax on LPG in the budget (2012-13) he presented in the Legislative Assembly yesterday.
