Defence Ministry blacklists six military companies

Indian Army
New Delhi, Mar 6: The Defence Ministry (MoD) has barred six arm companies from bidding defence contracts for next 10 years.

The Ministry has blacklisted the companies for their role in bribing Indian officials to bag lucrative military contracts.

Sources said that the blacklisted military companies were trying to bag Indian contracts for the supply of artillery guns.

The blacklisted companies include two Indian companies namely TS Kisan and Co. Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi and RK Machine Tools Ltd in Ludhiana and four foreign companies namely Israeli Military Industries, Singapore Technologies, Rheinmetall Air Defence in Zurich, Corporation Defence of Russia.

The decision came after almost three years when the Central Bureau of Investigation filed an FIR against all companies and recommended the MoD to blacklist the firms on the basis of evidence collected against them.
