Union Minister invites Maoists into mainstream politics!

Visakhapatnam, Mar 5: In what can be termed as an invitation to trouble, Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh has appealed to all Maoists to lay down their arms and join mainstream politics.

Speaking at a public meeting at Chintapalli in the Vizag agency area, he said, "The Naxalites should abandon path of violence and come forward to join active politics to contest (elections)... India is the country of Mahatma Gandhi and Gautham Buddha and every Indian should follow their path of peace."

Ramesh commented on the same along with his ministerial colleague and Panchayat Raj Minister V Kishore Chandra Deo. The duo were inaugurating 59 multipurpose halls across 11 tribal mandals in the district under the MPLADS.
