163 bodies of Muammar Gaddafi protestors found

Muammar Gaddafi
Libya, Mar 5: At least 163 bodies of missing persons who were killed in the 2011 conflict that brought down the reign of slain Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi were found, said a Libyan committee on missing persons on Sunday.

"The discovery of 163 bodies out of 400 missing from the regions of eastern Libya is an incredible achievement," said Maher Warfalli of the committee of missing persons.

According to Omar Abdelkhalek Obeidi, Committee chairman, also a forensic expert, said that the bodies were pulled out from a "mass grave" in Bin Jawad, Sirte, where Gaddafi was captured and then killed on October 20.

"The bodies belong to rebels who lost their lives between February and March 2011 in Brega, Ras Lanuf, Bin Jawad and even on the outskirts of Sirte," he said.

He further said that the bodies that were pulled out from the graves showed that they were either executed while others died fighting for their leader Muammar Gaddafi.
