Lalu's hidden treasure, wants to donate Rs 32 lacs silver

Patna, March 1: After being toppled from power, former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has turned a spiritual person from an atheist. Lalu is reportedly donating 55 kg of silver worth Rs 31,90,000 to prepare covers for the Vishnu idol and Shiva linga at the Hariharnath temple in Sonepur..

He is likely to perform the Abhishek around mid-March, once the work is completed.

"It was Lalu who had promised that he would get the temple renovated and provide silver covers to all deities. It was on his instructions that the walls of the temple were redone with red granite slabs," said Vijay Lalla, treasurer of the temple.

"Lalu ji is pulling out all the stops to make himself politically relevant. Appeasing god is one such formula," said Lalu's ex-aide.

During his tenure, he was a critic of Brahminism, but have now transformed into a spiritual person.
