Infosys: Didi uproots Tata's dream, Narayana Murthy's hope

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo announced her decision while saying, "As a principled stand, we'll not give SEZ status to Infosys. But we'll extend all benefits to the company as available in the IT sector."
"We want Infosys to come to the state, we have full sympathy for them. But we'll not be able to give SEZ as we are opposed to it alongwith with our resistance to FDI in retail, forcible acquisition of land and privatisation of banking and insurance sector. We have a principled stand on all these issues," added Mamata who is popularly known as Didi.
Mamata and her government's decision might have upset Narayana Murthy, the former chief of Infosys. Here it can be recalled that Mamata earlier had upset another business tycoon - Ratan Tata by opposing his dream project - Tata Nano.
Mamata is believed to be one of the main reasons behind the incident in which Tatas were forced to shift their Nano factory from Singur, West Bengal to Gujarat.
