Andhra Pradesh assembly speaker suspends eleven TRS MLAs

Hyderabad, Feb 22: The speaker of Andhra Pradesh assembly, Nadendla Manohar on Wednesday, Feb 22 suspended eleven MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for two days for disrupting proceedings of the House.

As the house started for the day, the TRS members insisted the speaker to have a discussion on their adjournment motion on Telangana issue, on which the house proceedings were stalled for the past three days, leading to their suspension, said sources.

The TRS MLAs also rushed to well of the house demanding withdrawal of cases against Telangana students. The speaker of the house tried to convince them saying that they could raise their issues during the debate on the motion of thanks to the governor on his address to the joint session of the legislature.

But the TRS members continued with their protest by storming the Speaker's podium and did not allow house to function. Soon after, at the direction of speaker, government moved the motion of suspending eleven MLAs of TRS. Following the motion, the CPI and BJP legislators staged a walkout to protest the suspension of the TRS members.
