WB: Mamata to paint Kolkata in blue; turn it into London

Kolkata, Feb 10: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's dream to turn Kolkata into London, has forced her to paint the city of joy in blue colour.

Kolkata's roads, flyovers, trees and taxis will be painted with blue colour. While, Mamata is trying hard to materialise the plan to bring a uniformity in the city.

Sovan Chatterjee, mayor of Kolkata said that "If Jaipur is known as the pink city, Kolkata can also be known as a blue city. Under the direction of Mamata Banerjee, we are using a uniform colour for Kolkata."

"It's such a waste of money. That money can be used for other things," one of the resident said.

CNN-IBN quoted an another resident, saying that "I don't mind. If Jaipur can be called a pink city, Kolkata can also be known for its colour. After all, blue and white are the colours of peace."

On the other hand, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation has planned to detect a tax of those, who would paint their houses in blue.
