'Batla House images made Sonia Gandhi teary-eyed'

In his rally, Khurshid said, "When Sonia Gandhi saw pictures of the Batla House encounter, she had tears in her eyes and she ordered a thorough probe."
Before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Khurshid had grabbed the headlines for his controversial statement over sub-quota for minorities.
It has been expected that he will not repeat such violations of the model code in the coming future.
Last month, Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh had reiterated that Batla House encounter was a fake one and stood by his demand for judicial inquiry into the issue.
Police had killed two men in the encounter, whom they thought were Indian Mujahideen terrorists hiding in a flat in Delhi's Batla house in Azamgarh.
