Army Chief age row: Setback for Gen Singh

The Supreme Court also questioned the Army Chief on why he did not correct his date of birth with the UPSC that is considered to be the most important document. According to the UPSC record, the DOB of the Army Chief is registered as 10 May 1950.
The Supreme court had asked the General to withdraw his plea or it will pass the order.
Going by the records, if the Army Chief's date of birth is accepted as 10 May 1950, he will have to retire this year, but if the judgement is passed in his favour, he will be given a year more to serve in the Army.
