IAS officer's wife rocks Bangalore with a SLAP, arrested

Bangalore, Jan 31: 32-year-old Anuja Pandey, who rocked the city with just a slap, has been arrested on Monday, Jan 30. Ms Anuja allegedly slapped a police official, Anjumala T Naik on Sunday.

Anuja was summoned by Cubbon Park police on Monday to face inquiry, for which she did not turn up. Later police tracked Anuja by tracing her mobile network coverage to Jeevan Bheema Nagar where she was found at a relative's house in Koramangala.

The police official on Monday had filed a case against an unknown person stating that a woman slapped her in front of the stadium on Sunday where celebrity Cricket match (CCL) was going. Later police, with the help of CCTV footage, revealed that the accused is the wife of an IAS officer, Pankaj Kumar Pandey. [Read: Why Anuja slapped the police official?]

"Anuja had rented a car from RTT travels and when investigated it was found that the car was booked in the name of HESCOM MD, Pankaj Kumar Panday, and it was revealed that his wife had taken the vehicle. Then it was confirmed that it was the IAS officer’s wife who had assaulted the police inspector," said police.
