Godavari: Andhra on fire; 20 injured, 40 vehicles burnt

Hyderabad, Jan 27: Tension gripped the people who reside near the borders of Andhra Pradesh, Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu on Friday, Jan 27. Police started firing on a gang who were protesting against a private company over labour issues.

20 people are critically injured and 40 vehicles including police vans have been burnt in the clash. The incident took place near East Godavari river.

Godavari, which is known as Dakhin Ganga (The Ganga of South India), originates near Trimbak in Nashik District of Maharashtra and flows east across the Deccan Plateau into the Bay of Bengal near Narasapuram in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
