Newly-wed misses honeymoon flight, Meru cab to pay money

The couple reached Mumbai airport at the right time but unfortunately, missed the scheduled flight to Kerala as their luggage were locked in the boot of the Meru cab and they accused the officials of the cab service of not responding to their calls at the time when they were in need.
Amit Vartak, the groom was compelled to book tickets of an another Kerala-bound flight which cost them Rs 11,000. After returning from Kochi, the couple sent a notice to Meru cab service but when they did not receive any response from the cab service, they moved the consumer forum which asked the cab service to pay the money as compensation.
After citing Vartak's petition, the consumer forum said, "In view of these facts we are of the view that the complainant and his wife must have gone through immense mental agony and torture."
"The car company should bear in mind that being in service industry, that too in the 21st century, they cannot exercise such kind of deficiencies," added the consumer forum.
