Visa fraud case ahead, Infosys strengthens team in US

Bangalore, Jan 3: One of the major Indian IT companies - Infosys Technologies soon will face a trial at an Alabama court in US over an alleged visa fraud case. The trial has been scheduled to be conducted on Aug 20, 2012.

The IT company has been beefing up its strength by appointing more employees (immigration experts) in its Texas office.

Erin Green has been appointed as the Global Immigration Lead who would work with the HR and legal teams, said posts on LinkedIn. The newly appointed team is expected to ensure 100 percent US immigration compliance.

Earlier in Aug 2011, Liz Jordan joined the company as Senior Associate Lead for Immigration. She had earlier worked at US-based corporate immigration law firm Fragomen, Del, Bernsen and Loewey as an immigration paralegal.

Infosys has also appointed two other persons - Laurie Hawkins and Nirala Maharaj as Practice Lead of Immigration and Associate Lead of Global Immigration comparatively.

Infosys is facing the visa fraud case trial following a complaint of its own employee - Jay Palmer, who had filed a case against the software company in Feb 2011.
