Anna's fast: Team Anna ready to deal with health emergency

Mumbai, Dec 27: Team Anna has been prepared to deal with any health emergency during the three-day fast of Anna Hazare at the MMRDA grounds at suburban Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The fast against the 'weak' Lokpal Bill tabled by the government in the Parliament started on Tuesday, Dec 27 (today) morning.

In view of Anna Hazare's health, the medical coordinators have held discussions with doctors at the Asian Heart Institute (AHI) in Bandra-Kurla complex which is just a few minutes away from Anna's fast venue.

Ratna Magotra, Hazare's medical coordinator for Mumbai, discussed the matter with senior doctors who agreed to assist with any emergency treatment if the activist needs it. A full-equipped ambulance would be ready at the fast venue for assisting activists if any emergency occurs.

However, Hazare has made it clear that he will not take any medical assistance during his fast unless absolutely necessary. Hazare has been complaining of cough and fever for the past few days for which the fast venue was shifted from Delhi to Mumbai in view of the extreme weather at the national capital.
