Student held for blackmailing woman into having sex

Mumbai, Dec 27: The Mumbai Cyber Investigation Cell on Dec 26 night arrested a 25-year-old student from United States in a two-year old case of blackmailing a girl.

According to a report published in the Times of India, Sawapnil Baliram Patole, a mechanical engineering student was arrested from the Mumbai airport while he was returning to India for Christmas vacation.

Patole has been charged with outraging the modesty of a woman, threatening and extortion. The case dates back to 2009 when the victim, a Pune resident lodged a complaint against him of clicking her nude pictures and thereafter forcing her to have sex and demanding money.
