Anna on fast, PM delivers message on Lokpal in Parliament

New Delhi, Dec 27: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday, Dec 27 addressed the Parliament and delivered his speech on Lokpal Bill while Anna Hazare started his three-day fast at MMRDA ground in Mumbai. Manmohan Singh urged all political parties to reunite on the issue of Lokpal putting the politics part aside.

• The task of legislation is very serious business and must eventually be performed by all of us who have been constitutionally assigned to do this.

• We have been enriched by wisdom of political parties and by all shades of opinions that have been taken into account
• We believe in transparent and open governance.
• We have taken decisive steps on corruption.
