1.40 lakh register for Anna's 'jail bharo' movement

New Delhi, Dec 27: India Against Corruption (IAC) which is playing an anchoring role in Lokpal campaign, had launched a website - www.jailchalo.com, which went live on Dec 22 to gather support for Anna's fast for a strong and independent Lokpal bill.

According to IAC members, one lakh forty thousand people have registered their names so far for the 'jail bharo' movement.

The website allows people to register their names themselves for the movement which will start from Dec 30 to Jan 1 if the Parliament does not pass a strong Lokpal bill.

Meanwhile, on Dec 27, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare is all set to hold his three-day long fast from 11.00 am at MMRDA grounds at suburban Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai against the 'weak' Lokpal Bill.

Earlier, on Dec 25 Team Anna had written an open letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and MPs seeking enactment of a "real and best possible" anti-corruption law which also provides an independent investigative wing for the ombudsman.
