Bhubaneshwar, Dec 20: Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday informed the Assembly that he has instructed the police to arrest all accused in the Posco clash, including contractor Bapi Sahi.

The clash took place between anti-Posco brigade and a private contractor over the construction of a coastal road linking the steel plant site. One person was killed and around 25 people were injured in the clash.

“I have directed the police to apprehend all the accused persons involved in the case, including Bapi Sarkel,” the CM said.

The issue was raised in the assembly's zero hour. Bhupinder Singh, the leader of opposition slammed the government for not arresting the main culprit. Meanwhile, the party criticised the government for not taking any action against the SP, Jagatsinghpur, who failed to control the situation. Singh inquired why the police had spread two PSOs for Sarkel. The opposition also claimed that the government was not serious about Sarkel's arrests and accused it shielding him.
