AP CM approves 4 schemes to mark 65th birthday of Sonia

Hyderabad, Dec 10: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has approved four important files to mark the 65th birthday of Congress party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Sources said that Reddy approved interest-free loan schemes up to Rs five lakh to the Self Help Groups (SMG) which would be available from 1 Jan 2012. The scheme will cause a financial burden of Rs 1,400 crore on the state government as the Chief Minister is planning to give Rs 10,000 crore loans to Self help Groups women in the coming year.

Chief minister also approved Rs 50 crore under a special grant for nine sugarcane factories. In an attempt to provide more financial support to the agricultural labourers, Kiran Kumar also approved to increase man days from 100 to 200 under MGNREGA scheme and also hike the wage component by 10 per cent in Dec and 20 per cent in the month of Jan next year.

Moreover, State government has chalked out an action plan to provide more benefits to SC and ST people in coming year under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Sources said that government has estimated cost of Rs 747 crore in 22 districts under MGNREGA for the year 2012-13.
