Delhi Metro to have wheel less trains soon

New Delhi, Dec 8: The Delhi Metro will soon come up with magnetic levitation wheel less trains, said Saugata Roy, Minister of State, Urban Development.

"The introduction of Maglev technology for metro connectivity by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is only at a conceptual stage at present," said Roy.

Roy further said that the Metro projects for Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Jaipur have been sanctioned and will be started in the next few years.

"Phase I of Metro Rail in Mumbai in not facing any major hurdle due to railway infrastructure," Roy said talking about the Metro Rail project in Mumbai.

"To resolve issues of inter-departmental coordination, high-level steering committee headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra has been in place," he said.
