BJP supports Kapil Sibal's war against online content

"We condemn if some distortion has taken place on such sites. No political party would approve distortion of images of public figures on the social network sites," said BJP leader SS Ahluwalia.
"Sibal's way of regulating them is not okay," he said.
Ahluwalia drew a parallel between the government's way of tackling the issue with the way Baba Ramdev's issue was handled when he protested against the black money issue at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi and was asked to end the agitation.
He said that the government should bring the issue to parliament for a discussion and said, "We will give our views then."
Ahluwalia further said that the constitution granted freedom of speech adding that social networking sites should not hurt religious sentiments of people or promote pervert pictures.
Kapil Sibal had said that social media should block derogatory content from their sites which could hurt the religious sentiments of people in the country.
